BabyBjorn One Baby Carrier review

I used the BabyBjorn One with my son Liam from birth until he was about 1.5 years old, and I absolutely LOVED it!

In this post, I’ll explain why this carrier was the best thing I recieved from my baby registry. Plus, I’ll also review some other Baby Bjorn carriers I tried.

Why i love BabyBjorn One Carrier

The BabyBjorn One carrier is a fantastic all-in-one option. It’s designed to grow with your baby from newborn (no infant insert needed) up to 3 years old (or 33 lbs).

What I love about the BabyBjorn One is its versatility. You can carry your baby in four different positions: newborn, front-facing inwards, front-facing outwards, and back carry.

This flexibility is great as it allows you to adapt as your baby grows and their needs change.

Product Specifications

  • Weight Range: Newborn to 45 lbs (No infant insert needed)
  • Carrying Positions: Front inward, front outward, hip, and back
  • Material: Breathable mesh fabric
  • Special Features: Adjustable lumbar support, padded shoulder straps, machine washable
  • Safety: Sturdy buckles, adjustable straps for secure fit
  • Color Options: Available in various colors to suit personal style

How to Put On the BabyBjorn One

  1. Put on the Carrier: Slip the carrier over your head like a T-shirt, so the back support rests on your back.
  2. Secure Waistbelt: Fasten the waistbelt around your waist and secure it tightly.
  3. Adjust Shoulder Straps: Loosen the shoulder straps if needed for easier adjustment.
  4. Place Your Baby: Hold your baby close to your chest and slide their legs through the leg openings.
  5. Secure Shoulder Straps: Bring the front panel up over your baby and connect the shoulder straps to the front buckles.
  6. Adjust Fit: Tighten the shoulder straps and adjust the waistbelt to ensure a secure and comfortable fit.
  7. Snug Check: Make sure your baby is sitting securely and comfortably in the ergonomic “M” position, with their hips and legs properly supported.

BabyBjorn Mini Carrier

The BabyBjorn Mini carrier is specifically designed for newborns and younger babies. It’s perfect for the early months when you want to keep your baby close and secure.

The Mini is smaller and simpler than the One carrier, making it incredibly easy to use, especially for quick trips.

It’s lightweight and great for breastfeeding on the go, but its use is limited to babies up to 24 lbs.

While the Mini is fantastic for the newborn stage, I preferred the BabyBjorn One because it grew with Liam, serving us well from birth up to 1.5 years and covering more stages of his development.

BabyBjorn Harmony Carrier

The BabyBjorn Harmony carrier is the newest addition to the BabyBjorn family, and it’s all about luxurious comfort.

It combines the best features of the One and Mesh carriers with enhanced ergonomic support. The Harmony is suitable for babies from newborn up to 3 years old (or 40 lbs).

The Harmony offers extra lumbar support and breathable, soft mesh fabric, providing superior comfort for both baby and parent. This makes it perfect for long-term wear and special outings.

However, it comes at a higher price point and can be bulkier due to the added support features.

Washing BabyBjorn Carriers

No matter which BabyBjorn carrier you choose, keeping it clean is essential. Here’s a general guide:

  1. Secure Buckles: Before washing, fasten all buckles and straps.
  2. Gentle Cycle: Use a gentle wash cycle with mild detergent. Avoid bleach and fabric softeners.
  3. Air Dry: Lay the carrier flat to air dry. Avoid the dryer to protect the fabric and buckles.

Each BabyBjorn carrier has its unique strengths, making them suitable for different needs and preferences.

For me, the BabyBjorn One provided the best overall experience, combining versatility, comfort, and long-term use.

If you’ve used any of these BabyBjorn carriers or have any questions, please share your thoughts in the comments below!
